MY STORY
The name Sequoia Pictures is a nod to the neighborhood I grew up in, Sequoia Farms. My goal is to approach each project with the same childlike wonder and creative fun we all possessed as kids. Whether I’m making documentaries, brand videos, or narrative films, the objective is always the same - tell a story that connects with an audience.

DAVID ASHTON
Producer & Founder
David is a producer, writer and director from Washington D.C. For the past several years, he has worked closely with small businesses and non-profit companies, creating videos that have aired on PBS, WUSA9, and NBC4.
David is also an award-winning independent filmmaker whose work has screened at the Virginia Film Festival, Richmond International Film Festival, D.C. International Film Festival, and others. His most recent directorial effort, The Legacy Sessions, won the Audience Award at the 2020 Alexandria Film Festival and the Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short Film at the Proteus Film Festival in Virginia Beach.
The music videos he's produced have been featured on Pitchfork Media, Consequence of Sound, Spin, and Brightest Young Things.
